Mace
Mace International manufactures several varieties of pepper sprays, gels, and foam. Each product uniquely addresses a particular need. It is important to understand the differences so you can decide which one is right for you. Below is a brief summary of each product type:
Mace® Pepper Spray, PepperGard®, and Pepper Foam contain oleoresin capsicum—a naturally occurring substance derived from hot peppers. OC Pepper causes an intense burning sensation to the skin, eyes, and throat upon contact. Some formulations also contain a UV dye to invisibly mark an assailant which may aid in identification.
Mace® Pepper Gel is a 1.4% capsaicinoids concentration suspended in a sticky gel rather than the liquid of our regular pepper sprays. The gel sprays farther than our other sprays. Pepper Gel contains a UV dye to invisibly mark an assailant which may aid in identification.
Mace® Triple Action Pepper Spray formula is a blend of oleoresin capsicum and tear gas. The OC Pepper causes the eyes to slam shut and uncontrollable choking. The tear gas causes profuse tearing and disorientation. The combination of the two agents produces a powerful self-defense spray. This formula also contains a UV dye. The tear gas is effective even if you miss the attacker.
